DONTA GREEN

Executive Director

Donta Green is a charismatic nonprofit leader and high school football coach who exemplifies service to the community. He is as adept at developing high-level strategy as mentoring students one-on-one. He brings a wealth of knowledge and community connections to his work as the Trade Institute of Pittsburgh’s second Executive Director. As head football coach at his alma mater, Pittsburgh Westinghouse, he led the team in 2019 to its first city league championship in 26 years and in 2022 to the state championship for the first time in school history. In 2023, DICK’s Sporting Goods Foundation presented Westinghouse with DICK’s first 75for75 Sports Matter Grant.

Donta volunteers on several advisory boards in the Homewood community, including  Homewood Children’s Village Site Team and Father Figures Academy. Donta was selected to participate in the 2021 cohort of the University of Pittsburgh’s Entrepreneurial Fellows Class and the Stand Together Foundation Catalyst Program. Donta was voted by readers of the New Pittsburgh Courier to be among the Fabulous 40 under 40 and 50 Men of Excellence. In 2022, he received Pittsburgh Magazine’s 40 Under 40, The Pittsburgh Business Times C-Suite Award, and the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association 2022 Coach of the Year. In 2023, Donta was presented with the FBI Directors Community Leadership Award.
